“At the Nuns” Restaurant is located on “Primorski” Blvd. near the Sea Park of Varna. The restaurant is situated in a building that is unique for its history. Only if those stone walls could talk... It was built in 1869 with the financial support of Paraskeva Nikolau – a Varna-born citizen of Odesa. That architectural masterpiece used to be the first civil hospital in Varna. The charity hospital was named after its godfather: “Paraskeva Nikolau”.

Nowadays “At the Nuns’” Restaurant is a well-established place with traditions in cooking Bulgarian national cuisine, professional service and the symbiosis between a cozy indoor hall and two open gardens for the summer season. The capacity of the hall is 60 seats, and together with the two summer gardens, their number gets to 180. One of the gardens welcomes its guests with its chapel “St. Prophet Iliya”. The chapel was built in August, 1838, over the ruins of a small church of the same name that was burned down in 1836. However, cultural surprise will not end here. In the upper garden of the restaurant is the entrance to the only Museum of Medicine and Medicine History on the Balkan peninsula. Its exposition shows various medical plants and herbs, as well as authentic tools which have been used by medicine since ancient times.

“At the Nuns” Restaurant is closely connected with the historical development of our sea-side capital city. Today it is part of the story carrying its unique charge and guaranteeing unforgettable moments for your business days and holidays.
